Fornells

With its whitewashed walls overlooking a tranquil bay, Fornells is the very definition of a Mediterranean fishing village. Nowadays tourism has taken over from fishing, although Fornells is famed for its lobster used in the traditional Menorcean dish caldereta de llagosta (lobster stew).

The village itself it located on the west side of the bay of Fornells and it's natural harbour is home to the boating and watersports fraternity. Many visitors enjoy wandering aimlessly through the quay, before settling down in one of the many good restaurants on the harbour, where fresh fish is served daily.

Cala Pregonda (7.7 km) - show on map

This is without doubt one of the jewels of Menorca, a beautiful bay with crisp light sand, crystal blue waters, backed by pine and tamarisk woods. There is a downside: access to Cala Pregonda is limited, the best route being the road from Binimel-là. For those who make the effort, the reward is well deserved!
