Not so long ago there wasn't even a road to Santa Galdana; now this beautiful cove has become a thriving resort maintaining a nice balance between tourism and natural beauty. The beach, Cala Santa Galdana, combines excellent facilities in a fantastic setting for family holidays. The shelter of large cliffs around the cove also serves to create a mini weather system, producing slightly higher temperatures than elsewhere.
The beach itself is comfortable and safe for children, with golden sand and shallow waters. An extraodinary range of pedaloes are available for hire, particularly useful for nosing around visiting yachts anchored in the bay. Sun beds and parasols are also available for hire.
A footbridge provides access to a restaurant perched on the rocky peninsula overlooking the beach, providing an excellent view of the entire cove. The beach area is also the perfect starting point for long walks up and down the coast, with more small coves waiting to be discovered.
Approx. transfer time from airport: 30 minutes
Riders at this equestrian show perform on traditional Andalucian horses that are specially trained the Menorcan way. The result is a truly magnificent performance showing the connection between man and beast.
A highly entertaining and fun evening out, the show can be seen on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8.30pm
This is probably one of the best places for a natural balance of tourism with ecology. Santa Galdana is a large resort, with all the beach facilities, watersports and family fun you would expect. However its unique situation also makes this a great place for long, peaceful walks leading to other beaches up and down the coast. There is something for everyone here.
